Our Story & Mission
The House of El Shaddai began with a simple conviction — that every person deserves to be welcomed with dignity.
From warm meals and day shelter to learning opportunities and pathways to stability, we serve our Hartford neighbors with open hands and open hearts.
We partner with local organizations, volunteers, and donors to provide practical care and a sense of belonging — so immediate needs are met and long-term hope is possible.

Together with local churches, nonprofits, and volunteers, we extend our mission beyond our walls. Each partnership allows us to feed more families, mentor more youth, and offer more support where it’s needed most.

🍞 Community Meals
A warm meal can change a day — and sometimes a life. Volunteers prepare and serve home-cooked meals to anyone who walks through our doors, offering nourishment for both body and soul.
👨🏽👩🏾👧🏿 Family Support & Guidance
Families facing hardship find more than help — they find community. We provide groceries, hygiene kits, and referrals to local resources while offering encouragement, prayer, and practical life guidance.
📚 Faith & Fellowship Workshops
From Bible study and prayer nights to women’s empowerment sessions, these gatherings strengthen faith and build lasting support networks that carry beyond the walls of our center.

Whether it’s a coat drive, back-to-school giveaway, or holiday meal, we work year-round to meet critical needs and uplift our neighbors through acts of service and love.
